Winning the SheInspires Award is an honour of respect, recognition and gratitude towards hard work, dedication, resilience and commitment. It highlights the importance of honouring and celebrating one’s work to open doors as opportunities and inspiration to others.
Personally, it is a lifetime achievement for me, something which I am extremely proud of to be honoured and recognised for my lifetime work in caring for my son, Akhilesh, as well as, inspirational to see how it has become useful for others, from all walks of life, in caring for someone with severe learning disabilities, in order to help them overcome challenges in their own environment. I am grateful for this opportunity in recognising my work and increasing awareness about learning disabilities, making a difference locally and nationally, and at a personal and professional level.
