The Slaterfield Community Centre was bathed in the vibrant hues of Bollywood, hosting a celebration that transcended cultural boundaries. Proudly organized by Community Film Art & Media CIC in collaboration with Asian Elders, the festival was made possible by the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund. This joyous gathering, attended by over 80 residents, unfolded as a tapestry of creativity and camaraderie. Project Dignity at The Girls Club

The activity at our Girl’s Club last week was to decorate a Dignity bag each, refill with goodies and top off with a hand decorated cupcake as presents for their Mums or Grandmas. The girls had a fantastic time and the results looked amazing. L is 7 and said she had had a lovely time and she couldn’t wait to give the bag to her Mum and L’s Mum Bethany said she didn’t want to use anything because it looked so beautiful! Another one of the girls liked the bag contents so much that she kept them for herself and just gave Mum a cake in a decorated bag. Her Mum thought the bags were a fabulous idea and making them look like gifts made a very serious matter more easy to talk about.It was really good to be able to speak to the girls about the importance of making sure every girl ...

UNIQUE FREE COURSES SUPPORTED BY THE EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND All courses will start on Zoom, with the intention (subject to prevailing legislation) to end each course by meeting up in a suitable venue. At the end of the course Learners will be awarded a certificate of accreditation from ASDAN, the internationally renowned training organisation. The project is organised by WEA (Workers Education Authority) with funding from the ESF, and delivered by Community Film Art & Media. Community Film Art & Media is a Community Interest Company working with ethnic minority communities for the past nine years. Students gain qualifications during lockdown

STUDENTS who picked up new skills during lockdown were congratulated by the Mayor of Bolton Cllr Linda Thomas. For despite all the hardships posed by the pandemic, Bolton based Community Film Art & Media CIC reached out to the most hard to contact students to engage them in courses via online platform Zoom. They took part in live and recorded cooking sessions. Following the lifting of restrictions, the students were able to celebrate their success, and some of the individuals received their certificates of achievement. Read more on the Bolton News.
