Introducing the Stepping Stone Forum

In Memory of Stacey Withington Overview: SheInspire’s Stepping Stones is a ground-breaking initiative addressing the critical lack of funding and support for women entrepreneurs, particularly those running small, women-led micro-businesses. While women entrepreneurs receive less than 2% of venture capital funding globally, most of this is directed towards high-growth, high-tech businesses, leaving small and micro-businesses virtually invisible. These businesses, often the backbone of local economies and communities, struggle to access the funding and resources they need to thrive. SheInspire’s Stepping Stones fills this void by focusing on women entrepreneurs overlooked by traditional funding systems. Building on the success of the Stepping Stone Award, now in its fifth ye...

These four events aren’t just about health checks and flu jabs—they’re about breaking barriers, building trust, and bringing healthcare to where it’s needed most. At our first Health Connected event, the stories were powerful. Women shared how work, time, and cultural hurdles had kept them from vital health services like smear tests for over a deca...

A Tribute to Stacey Withington: A Life Lived in Full Bloom

Stacey Withington came into our lives in early 2022, joining the She Inspires family as a finalist in the Fitness and Well-being category. From the moment we met her, she exuded a vibrant energy that drew everyone in. When Stacey was sent her time slot for the judging panel, she requested to be moved to the last slot because of a hospital appointment. We didn’t think much of it at the time and were happy to accommodate her. But when she arrived at the judging panel, she delivered news that left us all stunned. Stacey had just come from that hospital appointment, and doctors had told her she had cancer. I’ll never forget the silence that followed her words. We were sitting there with our panel of judges—Councillor Andy Morgan, Sharon Martin from Bolton NHS, and Dr. Chandeena Roshanla...
