Young Achiever of the Year – Winner April Dorsett! April’s Mum went on record saying April has ‘done things most adults couldn’t cope with, all whilst attending school daily & achieving good grades’. None of this could be more truthful. As a young carer since the age of six, April has lovingly looked after her Mother and her Aunts, even going above and beyond, all of her own volition and without complaint. After being interviewed by Healthwatch, April has gotten more involved in fighting for better support for young carers like herself.
