10 Minutes to Accelerate Action: Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025

Screenshot The day began with a quiet sense of purpose, the kind that builds not in noise, but in anticipation. Across time zones and borders, screens flickered to life as voices from around the world prepared to take the stage—not on a single platform, but on a global stage where geography held no limits and influence knew no boundaries. In the morning session, Louise Walden-Edwards, SheInspires 2024 winner for Women in Fitness & Well-being, took the helm. Her panel was a masterclass in resilience—not just in body, but in mind, in spirit, in the quiet decisions that shape a life of strength. Pat Wilson’s words carried weight as she spoke of endurance, the power of pushing forward even when no one is watching. Zaynab Jogi built on this, delving into the intersection of&...

The second event in the Seeds to Success series, held on 25th March at Bolton College, was one such moment. A room filled with ambitious, driven women entrepreneurs, all gathered to learn, connect, and step further into their own success stories. Led by the inspirational Jackie Hyde, the session revolved around the power of awards, recognition, and building connections. It wasn’t just about trophies and titles—it was about the impact of being seen, heard, and valued. Jackie, a powerhouse in the insurance industry and a fierce advocate for women in business, shared her insights on how awards can elevate not only a per...

Supporting your child to regulate emotions – with Julie Robinson

When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” – Paulo Coelho The state of being healthy, comfortable and happy. Children's wellbeing is, without doubt, at the centre of the Early Years Foundation Stage. A child's level of well-being is intrinsically linked to their levels of involvement and motivation to learn. Being happy includes managing their emotions and understanding the impact it can have on their daily lives if regulation is not addressed.  Regulating your Child’s emotions is becoming increasingly difficult. We are asked regularly by parents How they can get help.  So let’s look at ways you can help your child. "Emotional regulation is not about suppressing feelings, but teaching children to understand and express them...

Cooking Up Dreams: Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs in Food

Food is more than just something we eat—it’s a story, a journey, a connection. It’s the warmth of a family recipe passed down through generations, the hustle of a small kitchen growing into something bigger, the courage to take a passion and turn it into a business. This February, we had the absolute pleasure of bringing these stories to life with Cooking Up Dreams: Stories of Passion, Food, and Business, a special video series by SheInspires in collaboration with Taste of Bolton. Featuring Dipti Modi, Diana Portoro, and Gayle Coleman, three incredible women who have built businesses around their love for food, this series was a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the entrepreneurial spirit. Each conversation was filled with insights, laughter, and the real, un...

Women into Leadership – with Sandra McManus

I started a ‘Women into Leadership’ programme at the Sixth Form Bolton five years ago. Why? Because I have always believed that the girls in our sixth form were disadvantaged in their preparation for next steps, and in particular for the ‘world of work’. I saw so many young women working hard on their studies, but lacking the confidence and broader awareness to compete with their male peers in the workplace, for work experience placements and other opportunities. Since I was no longer as able to influence individual females in my classroom, as I no longer taught, I used my position and time to nurture, encourage and support our young women by setting up a college wide programme. And so our Women into Leadership programme was born.  The programmes aim, much like the ethos of She Ins...

SheInspires Community: Exciting Events to Look Forward to in February!

January has been an incredibly busy and inspiring month for the SheInspires community! We kicked off the year with our HealthConnect events, held in delivery partnership with Kildonan House and NHS England. These events brought together communities, healthcare professionals, and support networks to discuss vital health and well-being topics. On January 30th, we celebrated another major milestone—the launch of our Let’s Talk Money book series,  Moneysaurus Loves to Save, in partnership with MiniMinds Matter. Hosted at Eagley School House Nurseries, the event was a joyful gathering of nursery owners, parents, and children, filled with fun activities, an engaging book reading, and a special talk by Charlotte, the book’s talented designer and illustrator. It was a fantastic way to introduce...
